How long did it take you to write Heaven Help Us?

It took me nine months to write the book in its entirety. However, it took another five years to perfect and edit to its final Third Edition, published July 10 2017.
Have you been a 'writer' throughout your life?

No, this is my first attempt at writing a novel. The story is based on a true event, and for this reason, I had to find a fictional setting that would allow the story to flow into the final rescue event.
Who are some of the writers or what books that have inspired you to write?

Oprah Winfrey inspired me to write this book when she said on her show one day that we all had a story to tell, if only we had the courage to try. Authors I have read are Maeve Binchy, Kate Morton, Peter James, Bryce Courtenay, Claire MacIntosh, Linda Goodman.
Do you experience writer's block and, if so, what happens then?"

When it happens, and it does, I take a few days off and let it go. During that time, an idea will form intuitively, and even then I will let it go for a few more days, then it becomes clear and I can get back to writing.
